Who knits cotton in winter??

ME!! I have been busy knitting cotton, and yes IN WINTER!!

Hey there. Long time no write here... life is busy. I've been busy and I have a few things to share here now.

Recently I've been participating in a Community Course called Living Smart (or words to that effect). The gist of it is to help participants to live more sustainably, to reduce waste, reuse, repurpose and help us make better choices for a day to day living.

Previously, I have shared some cotton dishcloths pics earlier which I have made and made them available in my ETSY store (https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/Snickella ).

Anyway, I saw a pattern I really liked (similar to the one below) and I basically made up a similar pattern myself so I can knit up some neat dishcloths that look pretty but have a useful purpose. This is one of the first ones I knitted of this style. I bought a few colours of cotton yarn 8ply and really got into knitting them. I find it is good to have in my handbag and knit for short commutes between home and work.

These cloths are fantastic and I've had some great responses. Some people thought they were too pretty to use as a dishcloth and said they would use as a decorative doily.

The thing is that these dishcloths can be made to go with any decor, and best of all they can be used over and over and over again (and again - and so on.). They can go in the wash with your other washcloths, towels, flannels etc. So just fling it in there when it's needing to be freshened up. If someone leaves it sopping wet and left to go mildewy - simply put said cloth in container half water half white vinegar and leave to soak overnight (at least a good while). rinse it of and if it's still stinky fling it back into the vinegar/water soak.
Once the smell has gone chuck it in the wash and then it's ready to use again.

Here are some other cloths I've made recently and have available in my ETSY store:

So, don't be shy, check out my ETSY store right Here. :)

Until next time (which will be much sooner I promise), enjoy life. :)
